We Can Build A Fossil Free World Public Discussion
January 8, 2019 @ 6:30 pm - 8:00 pm
The 2019 Washington State legislative session starts January 14. Our representatives will take up several important climate bills, chief among them is one that commits our whole state to 100% clean, renewable electricity by 2045. Although the bill is not perfect (what bill is?!), it has very important and enforceable interim targets, including no coal in our grid by 2025 and 80% renewable electricity by 2030.
Join 350 Spokane, Fuse Spokane, and Gonzaga University’s Environmental Studies Department for a discussion of the Washington 100% clean renewable electricity by 2045 bill and how we can help pass it.
*Tentative Agenda*
-Mayoral Candidate Ben Stuckart will sign the No Fossil Fuel Money Pledge and deliver a statement.
-Updates on 350 Spokane work groups and 2019 priorities
-Discussion of 2019 State legislative session, especially 100% renewable electricity Washington bill
-Preparation for January 29 lobby day in Olympia in support of climate bills
