At the invitation of Selkirk Sun’s owner Sonya G., Responsible Growth * NE Washington responded with an op ed addressing the GMA (Washington Growth Management Act) and the POC commissioner candidates who speak out against it. Our op ed questioned POC commissioner candidates, Minnich and Youngs’ plans to opt POC out of the GMA.
They are in agreement with the two incumbent commissioner candidates, Gentle and Smiley. For years, they have both expressed their displeasure with the GMA and blamed it for the lack of economic development in our county.
RG * NEW wonders who would make our land use decisions if the GMA guidelines were not used. Real estate/land developers? A mostly “stacked” Planning Commission who appear to favor pro-heavy development and urban sprawl into our rural areas? It would be interesting.
