The issues covered are the same concerns and issues Responsible Growth * NE Washington has been trying to get covered in the 2020 update Comp Plans, Development Regulations and Critical Area Codes. We are going to continue to cover them in our 2nd DNS/SEPA appeal.
We can’t understand why any county government through its legislative actions would chose to ignore these issues. There are areas in Pend Oreille County where people have chosen to build their “forever” home that place them in a clear and present danger when it comes to catastrophic forest fires. There are no services available in the case of an extreme emergency whether fire season or extreme cold. The county is liable when allowing development where services are not available. Not only are humans at risk but so is the wildlife.
